My fellow moms,
I owe you an enormous apology for
not having posted preliminary findings of our survey, having
promised I would do it a very long time ago.
I offer this note not by way of excuse, but just explanation
– over the last few years, I have been consumed in trying to work
through some unanticipated work-related emergencies
(http://www.villagevoice.com/2008-07-02/news/columbia-s-knotty-noose-problem/
http://www.villagevoice.com/2008-07-09/news/Columbia-Knotty-Noose-part-two/).
Just things were settling down at work last spring, my
children’s father asked for a divorce; I bought a house, did
extensive repairs, and saw my kids through their senior and freshman
years of high school.
On the bright side, however, I’m
finally back at work!
And as soon as I was able to, the first thing I got to was analyses
of MomsAsPeople responses.
I’m delighted to tell you that the
findings so far are nothing short of wonderful.
It appears, indeed, that we
are collectively giving voice to several critically important
aspects being a mom in today’s day and age.
Things entirely ignored by developmental psychologists thus
far.
Having seen these preliminary data (on over
2,500 moms) along with suggestions you offered, I’ve refined the survey somewhat: I’ve
removed some largely irrelevant questions and added some of likely
importance.
I’d like very much to invite you,
too, to complete the new version of the survey -- the more responses we
get, the more convincing the findings will be.
If you’d be willing, please
click below on
“I’ve done the old survey; Start new version”.
At the end, as before, you’ll have the option of entering
your email address so that I can directly send the results we’ve got
so far. They’re
summarized and ready to go.
If you’d
rather not complete the new version of the survey but would like to
see the preliminary results, of course, I’d be happy to send them to
you. Please click below
on “I’ve done the
old survey; please send findings” and you’ll be asked to
enter your email address below.
Again, my apologies for the delay, sincere thanks for your
collaboration with me, and warm regards,
Suniya
