Meet the women at the back of the lady at the back of Mystique Vintage, the unreal very old habit site with blazers, dresses and textiles from the 40′s by the 80s. (There’s even selected paper!)
Genevieve, above, circa 1944, serves as troubadour for daughter Karen Broshears’ site. And it’s no wonder: demeanour at those coke-can curls, and over the shoulder “charmed I’m sure” pose. If we was wearing the hat, I’d take it off.
Karen writes:
“I recollect anticipating these snaps and the ton of others of her, her sisters, friends & even some very old beaus in an very old shoebox in the integument when we was the teen myself. we couldn’t hold my eyes. She brushed them off as “that very old stuff”. Somehow even yet she was the unapproachable but bad daughter of immigrants and hadn’t the pot to pee in or the window to chuck it out of she and her sisters and pals all managed to demeanour like glorious dolls most of the time. What I’d give to have her ’40s “factory girl” habit today.”
